@Cyclops
Yeah, close or a Hawks blow out, probably about 50/50.
Not guna be a Pats blow out.F'n hell, Vrabel isn't even meant to be the Pats coach.
He's meant to be coaching the Titans!
Some silly moo didn't like him, and flicked him . . . very, very silly. -
been a lot of chat about it the last couple of days. absolute joke from the voters.
-
@mariner4life
Probably one voter wanted to be hero and not make it unanimous; turned out a few others were maybe thinking the same thing.
Media are most of the voters; he never gave them much . . . except maybe the shits . . . which I kinda liked (don't ask stoopid questions) . . . "On to Cincinnati" -
If BB isn't first ballot, then no one, including Brady, should ever be
-
I thought it was weird he was on the ballot in the first place since he's still coaching.
Under . 500 when his QB isn't Brady is the biggest black mark but yeah this is mostly because he's a dick and people don't like him.
I think spygate is a big deal and not really sure how that's meant to be taken into account for this kind of thing. On the one hand, it should probably be handled by the league declaring him ineligible as part of the punishment (which they choose not to). On the other hand, maybe some of the voters thought that that was appropriate and have decided to never vote for him?
-
BB being kept out of the hall will delegitimise the whole thing. That's worse than Bonds not being in baseball's

Nah, the game is bigger than that. It'll be a mild drama than everyone gets over. (And I suspect he'll make it in next year, won't take many votes to change the result, and I'm sure there's a few people who have just done it to piss him off, which it clearly has).
I think it's totally on brand. The grumpiest coach gets one last opportunity to be grumpy.

I think this will have an affect on the Hall of Fame.
The Yanks take the football HOF real serious.
No one has came out and said they didn't vote for him yet.Zero affect on the game as a whole.
Heard that Eli Manning missed out again too.

Confirmed game for Melbourne this year
Rams 49ers
Excellent!
When is that to be played?
Not confirmed but I would think it will have to be week 1. I would say a Friday game in Melbourne (Thursday night football in the US).
Then again that would clash with afl playoffs (September)
So who knows.
-
my understanding is it's in October?
I am definitely going

I thought week 1 was the rumor
I'm planning to go too, can't wait
-
i can't see how they make it week 1 given the NFL demands around the stadium, and the fact that AFL finals won't finish until the last weekend of September. And fat fucking chance the MCC is allowing AFL finals to move or be impacted in any way.
-
oh interesting
-
i might try and go to this, could be a lot of fun

Mitch cleary AFL reporter has said the following
The AFL anticipates the game will be played on semi-final weekend (Thursday September 10 or Friday September 11) with a pre lunchtime kick-off
I've never had a chance to see the 49ers before. And a regular season game is much more desirable than a preseason game played by second stringers
