Tamati Ellison should have been moved on straight away following the record loss and there were players for whom that should have been their last game for the All Blacks based purely on the lack of effort being put in. Instead, they promoted one of those players, who was walking on defence and kicking the ball away within his own 22, to captain for the next game and they act like everything is absolutely fine. Robertson has a bad case of main character syndrome and thinks everything will just fall in place for him like he's some kind of Mary Sue in a poorly-written movie.

Agree with the general sentiment about the makeup of the loose forwards. But individually I thought Lakai was fine if in the last game. He made post contact metres in heavy traffic, his detail around ball presentation and body positioning was spot on. Granted he got limited chances but seemed up to the physical stuff in that sample. Let's how he goes against the bigger bodies the Wobs have returning this week.

I can’t remember the exact circumstances given my age at the time but Buck Shelford got dropped after the All Blacks only narrowly defeated one of the best Scotland teams of all time. Not to mention the clean out after the 1991 WC ( Whetton brothers both dropped if I remember rightly ? )
Fair to say Beaudie and Ardie wouldn’t have survived those times.
