I haven’t seen a lot of Hawke’s Bay this season but has Fakatava developed a threatening kicking game yet? That’s always the knock I’ve had on him personally, no doubt about his pass and run game.

That midfield is so uninspiring. Bailyn Sullivan injured? When will this Havili and McLeod experiment end? Not mad about Rona being a fresh face. Will have been nice to see Taele and Tale’a named. Zarn Sullivan over Fihaki for me

@Landers92 Z Sullivan is only an option at fullback. ENS and Fihaki can play FB or wing.
Hopefully they do list who was unavailable because of injury.
The big loser from last year is Lam.

Riley Higgins but he's been injured pretty much all year. Apparently available soon but ran out of time for the All Blacks XV. He was in the AB XV last year.

No real ommissions... Fineanganofo is the one who leaps out at me, but outside backs is always a contested spot.
Kaylum Boshier is a head scractcher.
Boshier blows my mind. As if we don't have enough Chiefs loose forwards in the mix already. How did he get selected over Casey?

@brodean I just went off the lists the ABs had. Slater is now a Blues player, and Kumeroa is listed as Chiefs.
Slaters contract starts next year and so does Kumeroa's.
They're selected based on this years form and previous years.

I believe Sullivan broke his wrist in the quarter final.

Surely Casey would be competing with Withy and Papalii. I am surprised with Boshier's selection but he is a no.8, not a 7.

Statistically very good in the NPC. Just where is he going to get gametime next year.

@canefan McLeod is 26, far from an old-timer (if this is what you are referring to). In theory, he could be the ideal back up to Jordie Barrett, so fair to persist with him.
The odd thing about Havili, is they have clearly sign-posted they want a power run at 12, and he clearly is not that.

Boshier primarily play's 7 for the Chiefs. He's played either 7 or off the bench for the last 3 years and never started at 8.
There is Lio-Willie and Flanders who are the two form 8's of the NPC covering 8.
