Sure it’ll sink in soon. Hadn’t really been paying attention to the NLCS because the Jays Seattle series sucked up what little attention I’ve got for rounders. First thought on seeing the Ohtani line was good fucking luck to Seattle/Jays in the World Series.
But today I’m thinking how lucky it is for Mariners or Jays fans. Pure win win. Will make the series win far sweeter and if they lose they still got to watch peak Ohtani at the pinnacle of the sport and it’s a fair fucking excuse for losing.

Amazingly, it's not quite as big here in Japan as it should be.
I'm not saying that it isn't getting heaps of traction, but people don't seem to realize just how much of a fucking cheatcode he is, and what this performance represents.I find that unbelievable. I assumed that he would be celebrated like a god in Japan

He is. Maybe it's because he is already so popular that the specialness of this one performance hasn't (hadn't) yet filtered through?

He's done so much impressive stuff.
The way he closed out the final of the World Baseball Classic in 2023 against Mike Trout completed the sale for me.
I think maybe the Japan GP would have taken more note of that. The national team stuff really does add some acid to a game.
Those MLB players usually always look so chilled, that was the first time i'd ever seen them all lookin super stressed for a whole game. -

We're going to have a Game 7 of the ALCS.
Not happy about it - I think the plucky Mariners have punched above their weight to get this far, but it looks like the pressure is getting to them. Can't see them pulling off another heist.
Would be fucking happy to be proven wrong, but...
Gonna be an intense atmosphere this evening at the local brewery. -

Fucking George Springer.
Filthy cheat with the Astros, still fucking us over.
( I find the hatred here at a similar level to kiwis' underarm angst )I didn't know where he'd gone until now. That's a bad beat, at the hands of a one time cheat

Gonna be an intense atmosphere this evening at the local brewery.I was supporting the mariners , love an underdog story ,
But I do think Toronto had a more even spread of talent with their hitting and pitching.
I saw a stat , Seattle bottom 3 batters ( 7,8,9) collectively hit .098 ,
Toronto same hitters hit.284 .I lost count how many times through the series Seattle had runners on base for the bottom of the order to not capitalise , I suspect they need to look at strengthening 2nd base , left field and right field , if they had more hitting from those , they are probably in the WS right now.

A phenomenal 6th inning by the Jays.

Going to be an interesting series ,
I was listening to Derek jetter , and he think the dodgers have the best starting pitchers of all the teams but their bullpen is probably just average and thereabouts.
Toronto on the other hand bat really deep , aggressive hitters right through to 9 , the dodgers will be hoping their starters can get on top, throw deep into the game and will be very concerned about having to go to their relief pitchers too early, as we saw what happened yesterday.
