@Dan54 It is a part time gig, plus he works with the Black Ferns and other NZ representative teams.

Yep but it would only be a part time gig. I really can't see anyone wanting the job anyway, as what the hell would it actually be? If you tell the coach what to do, you are the coach and move the other fella aside!

@Dan54 I am thinking more of Smith returning to his role under Henry and then Hansen. Hands on coaching.

    Best case:

    • Scott x2 gets the boot, along with Ellison.
    • Ardie gets the boot, he’s not bigger than the ABs and he’s made his intentions clear.
    • New captain - preference is Codie Taylor
    • Jamie Joseph takes over as head coach and he somehow entices his mate T Brown to come home.

Genuine question Canes. What intentions had Ardie made clear? I not talking about speculation on here or in Herald.
Just one thing I would like answered amongst all the others, like Codie is another supposedly pulling pin if Razor stays etc,

Apparently, he had signed with R360, if he wants to go then by all means go. I don't care who you are, if you're not 100% committed to the AB jersey, then you shouldn't be selected.

Once again, 'apparently' he has signed etc, but as he is signed to NZR until WC 2027 and R360 was meant to start this year, excuse me if I take that with a grain of salt.
Though I agree on you have to be 100% committed to AB jersey! It's like the RMo situation, he only signed to after WC.

Yep, only thing is Smith has said numerous times he done with coaching ( and he now lives in Aus), and not sure an assistant coach is what is missing?

@African-Monkey I'll stir the pot with a small tidbit, and let the plot thicken.

If Jamie Joseph has been shoulder tapped, he hasn't told his family members. As of this evening, one member of his close family, has expressed serious doubt that there's anything to the rumours he'd get the role.

If Razor is going JJ may not be the replacement. Or if JJ is the replacement, he hasn't told his family.

or theyre fibbing to you as its one thing to keep it in the family and another to tell outsiders 🤷🏻♂

I see that RugbyPass and the ODT have articles quoting Liam Napier's NZH story. But, it's obviously not a story for the Stuff journos. You know, the same ones who seemed to be writing daily articles about the numerous shortcomings of Foster.

Lol yeah, poor buggers must be hurting by this.

    (Hopefully it's true)

Yeah of course. He's very active on Twitter/X with breaking news.

I would just expect that news to be broken by an NZ journo rather than an Irish one.

Meanwhile, the only rugby related stuff I can find on the Herald is about BB's holiday in Fiji.

Just wondering who RoC’s source is? An NZ journo who has bottled it?

Shoot your shot, and all that.

Irish Examiner can publish it because there are no repercussions or sanctions from NZR to them. They won't be denied access to the All Blacks.

NZ journos will be waiting until the official NZR statement before they can push go on what they know

Yep. I think the style of journalism in this country lends itself to a reveal all after a sacking, rather than a sensationalist headline.

That Together We Walk shit was cringe-worthy. Thank fuck someone saw sense and ditched it pronto

It was an early indication of the surface level intelligence applied to the appointment. Like someone had watched a TED talk on motivation and their takeaway was an easily repeatable common theme .
