RWC SF: All Blacks v Argentina

The list of English players I don’t like is disappointingly short.
Even guys like Will Carling and Austin Healey proved to be quite good funny buggers once they retired.
Matt Dawson obviously. That Hakarena shit was so embarrassing.
Owen Farrell……
But really hard to think of any others.

Not familiar enough with his work. I’d better make sure to watch the semi very closely and reassess.

England is the least evil for me. I'm actually a fan even though their play is like a roller coaster. Boks, enemy number 1 no way. Cheika winning it, get stuffed.

The only way South Africa beat us in a final is if they poison us again.

Or play with 10 extra subs via HIA

I'd cross out LF for ALB too. Just in case we need defensive steel at the end again.

@Machpants I love DMac. If either Richie or BB have a niggle, he’s straight in at 10 or 15. Definitely on standby for this one.

If they go for a 6/2 ALB is a certainty for the bench. Covers 12/13 well and it's interesting that he was on the wing at times during the last game
-
Can I ask, without having to read back through the thread, why we're going 6/2? We're not Saffas.

We've had a 6/2 earlier this year
It's just speculation. It might be an option to manage the workload of the pack. If things are going well we can get more of our elderly forwards off. It's only a 6 day turnaround and they had a huge workrate on the weekend
-
Two reasons for me:
-
Maintains forwards dominance for 80 minutes.
-
Means one fewer forward has to play the 80 minutes a week out from a probable final.

Those seem silly reasons to me. We maintained forward dominance for 84 minutes against a superior pack this week. Just throw Ta$man Jesus in there if we want to rest players.
Also, you claim above you want as much attacking threat out wide as possible, but a 6/2 heavily reduces that if we have some ill timed injuries or poor form on the day.
Anyway, that's just my thoughts on the matter.

If it is one score, wouldn't be stunned to see Smith go the 80 again.
I would
He did 70, with a 20 (25?) min break in the middle. I'm sure they are tracking speed, time to ruck etc - if he started to fall off he'd be off. It's smart play... and if that happened, Christie would have been who the Coach's prefer (am NOT saying I agree with it, but also not seeing what they see in training).
Sure, but if it is tight and the adrenaline is pumping in a World Cup SF, not sure Smith will tire. He is up there with Beauden is one of our fittest players, and his pass doesn't tend to drop off either. Christie is very much a break glass in case of emergency... the bigger issue is probably the fact they don't think Christie or Weber are close enough to Smith in ability, and there wasn't enough time to get Roigard up to speed.
I still wonder whether they should have been almost blind, and shown faith with Fakatava, with the reasoning being he has the 1,2 punch with Smith already, was in the environment last year, and would have been earlier had it not been for injury. In truth, there was never time to get Roigard up to speed, because we only had one proper test (SA) before picking the RWC squad. If it wasn't Fakatava, it probably should have been Weber.

Will a week be long enough to recover for a poss. Final in that case?

My fear is that we've played our final against Ireland and haven't left anything in the tank for the rest of the RWC.
As irrational or rational that fear is.
It'll be very hard to get back up against Arg see last cup vs England, then eng vs SA. But I think Arg aren't as good as england were then, and certainly did not have the laser focus that Eddie put on beatings ABs above actually winning the cup. So I think we'll win. But it will be tough

I think the fact that many of the players and some of the coaching staff have been there before will maybe help. Seems to be a lot of messaging coming out they are aware of falling off and need to get themselves up again straight after an epic win.

You'd hope so, especially after all the talk of the Ire game being the final
