Our reserve halfback has played half a game of rugby. Beautiful symmetry.

Supposed to rain on Saturday night. I expect Argentina to commit heavily to the breakdown and try to turn the game into an arm wrestle. ABs by 12.

From the minutes played to date, I was a little concerned that Ardie was going to be overused. He does have the most minutes in an attritional position.

But even still, it is only 5 hours of rugby in 6 weeks

Why are they sticking with Christie? It seems odd.

with at most 160mins of rugby in the Black jersey left im wondering if theyre just going to let smith run and they know there will be less questions about having left Christine on the bench than if the young gun Roigard wasn't used...let Roigard have his moment in the sun next year

@stodders I keep forgetting that's it's their Friday night. Same forecast. My brother said it's really coming down on the southern coast at the moment.

Interesting discussion this. SA have proved their team isn't impacted by players moving O/S, so is it time for us to do it too? The NH club sides have definitely come on leaps and bounds so it's hard to argue players won't get good experience slotting in up there. Sure, more players will leave, but it will also provide more opportunities for new up and comers to make their way into Super Rugby. I was always against playing players who left to go o/s but it seems a bit outdated today.

It may be a problem for Robertson, but it's a problem for NZR to fix.

Can't dump everything into the Head Coach's lap.

Oh it's definitely NZR. If we can't pay more, and as a country we define ourselves through our top sportspeople, why doesn't the government embrace professional athletes by offering them tax breaks to stay in the country. The All Blacks are our most recognised International brand, by a country mile, and are responsible for a huge slug of revenue coming into the country. Of course it would never happen, but there's certainly governmental opportunities to support our stars, not just actions NZR could take. It's definitely not Razor's problem to deal with, it just speaks volumes of the outmoded thinking in NZR. A lot more could be done to help develop the grass roots game as is being doing throughout Europe at the moment. Just look at what TNZ have done, I'm sure they didn't want to take the Cup offshore, but with little incentive here and as a commercial entity they didn't have a lot of choice if they wanted to keep winning. I think we will continue to struggle if we don't embrace how the world has changed and keep pace with it.

Anybody who wants to know why they aren't playing Roigard, go watch the game vs Uruguay with no pre-conceived bias. I am not saying I agree with the decision, but some of his distribution was a little untidy, and it has cost them.

They were absolutely planning on having him on the bench, it would be illogical to give him those two starts, plus the bench position against Italy (when the heat was on), if they were planning on Christie being on the bench. They would have given Christie a start vs Uruguay.

Agreed it wasn't a great start, but he grew into the game well. Better than Christie would've I dare say.

That was the big plus for me. The way he managed his yips was impressive.

                                  This is a great idea.
Tax breaks for top NZ sport team professionals, yes from me.
I didn't like the Silverlake dilution and perhaps this is another pathway.
Enhanced revenue for the country from seeing top players, yes.
Also everyone knows the continual shite occurring in the world. It's obvious to all the benefits to mental health and wellbeing being involved with sport including NZ rugby. Go World Cup, go All Blacks.
