It would be interesting to see or hear what the game plan is around kicking.

@Frank anyone putting their hand up in NPC?

Maybe it is Tim’s time if Proctor fails his next audition?

@taniwharugby keep the opposition guessing. Only problem is, it keeps the ABs guessing too.

Offensive kicking was part of the triple threat Wayne Smith pushed for. It supposedly kept rush defences honest if executed well.

Chasing of kicks has been v poor for a while. No pressure. Pressure on kick offs has been v good though.

I wouldn't mind seeing Love tried on the wing - he's good under the high ball, can kick and has good hands. Given the poor standard of our wings it could be a way to get him in the 23.

@KiwiMurph for Reece? ABs seem to want to play with one big winger at least (Ioane or Clarke when fit).

@stodders we normally give a centre around 30 tests before we decide he’s not really suited to that position 😉 so let’s just give Proctor at a minimum the rest of the year to prove his worth in the 13 jersey .

@stodders I’m definitely not anti-Scooter. But I would like to see him compete for his spot, not just be handed it because he’s the captain.

I thought he played pretty well and he's far from the biggest of our problems

Rieko's size is adding very little these days. What are you really missing by switching?

In the short term I mean.

In the longer term yes as I suspect someone like Tangitau will come in as another winger with a bit of size and power.

ABs seem to want ALB as a bench option and that fails time and time again.....

He played ok. What concerns me is how the team is coming out of the shed after half time in yet another game. That was not the time to ease the foot off the throat, so the absolutely insipid, unfocused showing - remember they came back to within a try - is either on the coach/es for not resetting the team, or the captain for not driving that response on the field.

Admittedly, having now watched the Saffa v Aussie game, my criticism has softened a little… 😅

It takes some effort to play in four All Blacks Test wins and never impose yourself on a game.

The problem is Rieko and ALB aren't the answer at centre either.

Take the win, flush the dunny and move on.

Newell, Savea, Jordan and Sami T were the pick of the ABs.

Holland was good too. Taylor is reliable as ever.

    Christie and ALB were awful.

Beauden Barrett is rocks and diamonds. Proctor is unconvincing. And neither of the wings set the world alight.

Anyway, nice to be Number 1 in the World again. Long may that continue!

    We have some issues:

Why do we kick the ball away when you have a penalty advantage?

We clearly had the wood in the forwards but didn’t use it until the last 20.

We have to work on our on our aerial game. Someone has to go up. Someone.

Caleb Clarke is good in the air.

Maybe we need to bring in another fullback/wing hybrid who can catch high balls but is still be a attacking threat. Maybe Jacob Ratumaitavuki-Kneepkens is an option otherwise try Reuben Love on the wing. Can't be worse than Reece and Ioane. The other option is to hire Ben Smith or Corey Jane as a specialist high ball coach.

We also need a big hard running 8. We are asking too much of Savea making him do this role as well. It should be Hoskin Sotutu but I guess given the coaches issues Simon Parker, is the only option, move Ardie back to 7.

Hard to know what to make of that, was actually a decent win, but the Razor ABs never look in complete control like we thought they would. I think what may annoy me the most is how much pressure the team puts on itself, so many times players just pass to players in worse positions.

Proctor is copping the same criticism that RI used to get when he got no or crap ball and no chances to unleash his outsides. Go figure. Meanwhile RI had to go into the pack to do pick and goes to get his hands on the ball in any situation other than a hospital pass.

Reece had his best game in black for a while, took two good tries and cut his error rate down from usual. Still shouldn't be there.

Ah well, got the points to kick off the RC on the right foot.

The level of analysis in the post game

Kirsty: "Sevu Reece is such a nice guy isn't he"

Justin Marshall: "Ardie played the entire French series at 7"

So Jacobson going down in warm ups and Ardie captaining test 3 vs France at 8 with Kirifi at 7 just never happened eh Justin?

I don't know what the source of the problem in our backline is. Holland always ran a very creative backline at the Canes.

Well, we were promised the world once Rieko was moved out of centre, people finally got their wish, well, Proctor can stay for now, but I ain't impressed........

Had to go out, so watching the final 15 minutes. After weathering the storm, it was pleasing to see us grind up their forwards at maul time and really give it to them with a couple of late pushover tries. Lots of work ons though, not least in selections. But I think that will be the last thing that changes. Razor reminds me of coach Red Beaulieu in the Waterboy. Enjoyed considerable success, but doesn't seem to have any new ideas of his own

What the fuck was that? The likes of Christie and ALB need to never play in Black again . Too be honest the only Barrett that just about deserves his place is Jordy. Yep lets just kick the ball away over and over again. The only good thing about today is the Boks were also shit. The Argies were third rate and they pushed us. . No fucking flow and way to many errors. Robertson is not much better than Foster IMHO. The Aussies may win this year and it will be well deserved.

Fans voting for Ardie for MOTM on the Sky broadcast???? Are we fucking serious? Bro let in 2 tries and did fuck all else.

Well perhaps like you mate, they just got an opinion. It's no more correct or otherwise than yours. Don't get upset about it.

More a dig at the general public who can't see things like him leaking 2 tries, he genuinely didn't do a lot in this game.

I didn’t mind the look of him at fb and Jordan on the wing , I’d like to see it again
