I'm caught in two minds here. On the one hand, I do think that is more or less the best available 23. On the other hand, I think only dropping DMac and Kirifi from that shambles feels too generous. Granted there is a couple back from injury, but I think you could make a reasonable argument that Lomax, Sititi, B Barrett, J Barrett, Proctor, Williams & Newell also could have paid the price.

Would have been a strong statement to leave out a few more, but the pressure Razor is under probably means he can't take a long-term shot like that.

@frugby that myth of dmac guy has the exact same other 22 players, only thing that differs is Fabian not in the 23 at all so I guess Scott was injured as late as yesterday maybe

New captain. Is that because Barrett is injured or was he dropped?

Good to see Lakai replace Kirifi on the bench.

    Clarke makes his return.

BB will probably look ok against a passive Wallaby defence, as will a few others. This test will paper over the cracks and tell us very little.

Roigard back is a huge boost for this side. I reckon he should just skip Beauden altogether when we attack.

McKenzie is still in the 23, so that 6 tries to 1 drubbing is rightly all laid at the feet of the bench loosie.

Same old shit selections win this one then get smoked in Perth.
Pattern remains the same so no chance of progression.

@Grooter I love a conspiracy. Just seems all a little too convenient.

Regardless, if these guys go well this week, it will be decision time for Razor.

By that logic, the Wallabies defeating the Boks and Pumas has told us very little about the Boks, Pumas and Wallabies?

We can also pin it on the halfbacks…..

Is Lakai selection more of a reaction to our implosion in the final 20 when the bench guys came on or has he just not been 100% fit until now?

I just don't understand why Kirifi was getting picked over him for so long when Lakai's ceiling is higher, he's 22 vs Kirifi 28 and he's 110kg vs Kirifi 103kg.

True that, 12 cap Cam Roigard must already be significantly better than Carter and McCaw ever were if his absence results in a rout like that.

He wasn’t moving freely in that last 10 minutes of the Boks match, was even mentioned during the game. I don’t think it’s just a shoulder either.
